Expanding your knowledge
It is always good to make sure that you have the best possible cover in place.
Taking an advanced riding course is one way to take advantage of getting a reasonable price on your motorcycle insurance. There are a variety of training courses that you can take, and here a few:
- The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)
- Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM)
- Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS)
And by having one of these courses under your belt, you will show insurers that you are serious about riding and take all precautions to be safe on the road.
Keeping your Motorcycle or Scooter safe
Also, to help reduce first-time bike insurance costs, we highly suggest ensuring that your motorcycle or scooter is kept in a secure garage or shed overnight. Or, if you do not own a garage or shed, we would advise keeping it a secured area.
And for the times when riding away from home, it is always a good idea to invest in an Immobiliser, Alarm or any other type of security device. Just so you are aware, it is not a requirement to have a security device, but you can never be too safe.
